Oh blah, I'm so sorry it was such a mess.

Please see my assorted posts about St. E's ER and their complete inability to handle pediatric cases --I think they're afraid of children-- and imagine what they'd have been like on Sat. afternoon after the folks in the bars and all the nursing home transfers. Totally a no-brainer (I say with 20/20 hindsight) to go to Children's. My pedi has now rebuked me *twice* for taking a child to St. E's. And with the valet thing, shabbat is less of a problem over there.

I got into the habit of having a stocked diaper bag and of having a change of clothes for me and my sling in easy grab for those ER trips. Less for those pukey moments --thank G-d I've never had something like that happen, I'm so sorry it did to you!-- and more for those "congratulations, you're getting admitted as soon as a bed's available" times. Oh well -- at least it's not a UTI or RSV, and hopefully he was better enough last night and today for you to catch up on sleep and get some destressing in.
